Chantel Coward graduated with her doctorate degree in clinical psychology in 2006. Over the course of her career, she has had the invaluable opportunity of working for and providing various services to numerous reputable organizations including the Ontario Provincial Police Association (OPPA), Lakehead University (Orillia Campus), University Partnership Centre (Georgian College), Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care (formerly MHCP), Queen’s University, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health.

Chantel began as a sole practitioner in 2008, providing therapy to children, adults, couples, and families. However quite quickly it became evident that there was great need in the community so in 2010 Chantel brought her first associate on board.

Today, Chantel Coward & Associates is a skilled multidisciplinary team providing skills, therapy, treatment for both mental and physical health to children, adults, couples, and families. Chantel is proud of her extremely intelligent and dedicated Team.

Aimee has many years of experience as an administrative assistant and she will be a great asset to Chantel Coward & Associates.

Dr Karagianis earned his MD (1985) at Memorial University of Newfoundland and his fellowship in Psychiatry in 1990. He worked for 14 years as Staff Psychiatrist for the Health Care Corporation of St. John’s, held various academic positions at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and managed a large practice of community based and hospital based patients with severe mental illnesses.  He was awarded the Schizophrenia Society of Canada Outstanding Achievement Award for 2004.  He

Worked with Eli Lilly from 2004 to 2012, in Canada, US and had global responsibilities for olanzapine, while maintaining a part-time practice at the Toronto Center for Cognitive Therapy. He returned to Ontario and resumed private practice in January 2012, and also worked as Psychiatrist in Chief at Waypoint from 2012-2016.

 

Dr. Karagianis has served on many professional committees and boards including the Professional Advisory Board of the Schizophrenia Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, and is on the Board of Directors for WENDAT in Midland. He is a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Clinical Practice, the Open Journal of Psychiatry, ISRN Psychiatry and is a peer reviewer for several other journals.

 

Dr. Karagianis has designed and participated as a clinical investigator in a number of pharmacological studies of schizophrenia, depression, acute agitation and metabolic and functional outcomes of patients taking antipsychotics. He is an advocate for the use of principle of evidence-based medicine in psychiatry. He has 46 papers published in peer reviewed journals including Schizophrenia Research, Canadian Journal of Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Neuropsychopharmacology, Neuroendocrinology Letters, Current Medical Research and Opinion, Human Psychopharmacology, the Annals of Pharmacotherapy, World Journal of Biological Psychiatry, International Journal of Clinical Practice and Clinical Schizophrenia and Related Psychoses.

 

Dr. Karagianis has given medical education talks in 36 countries and 10 provinces of Canada.  Since 2004 he has given nearly 400 lectures and scientific presentations to more than 13000 people.

Social Workers help turn issues into answers. Katie Dupuis is a Registered Social Worker and is passionate about supporting people on their journey to finding their answers.

Using an evidence-based approach, Katie is happy to assist her clients in improving and discovering helpful ways of coping with such issues as depression, anxiety, stress in the home or work, caregiver burnout and more. Having worked with the elderly, adults, youth and children, she welcomes clients of any age and at any life stage.

She brings to the team an understanding and experience in working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and adult mental health. Katie is committed to working collaboratively with her clients, and to providing a warm, therapeutic and non-judgemental environment. Together you will set goals, and work toward achieving them.


Katie obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto in 2015, where she specialized in health and mental health. She completed her Bachelor of Social Work at Lakehead University in 2011, and in 2008 earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Windsor.

Stephanie Hill is a registered dietitian with over ten years of experience in a number of different areas, including research, mental health and addictions, and diabetes and related metabolic health disorders. 

 

Stephanie offers intensive one-on-one private coaching for people who want to:
